Our mission as an organization is to design, build, and race a high-performance Formula-style race car, while fostering innovation, teamwork, and engineering excellence among students with a heavy emphasis on testing and model validation.

who we are

Clemson Formula SAE (CUFSAE) is a student-run organization dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and competing with a formula-style race car. Our main focus is the enrichment of a Clemson education with hands-on and real-world experience. The involved logistical, engineering, and organizational challenges of this task offer every student, not just engineering majors, impactful experience that complements coursework. From engineering to marketing to financial planning to graphic design, CUFSAE has something to offer to everyone. We aim to provide students with the tools to learn relevant skills while exploring the possibilities of employment in the automotive industry.

Located at 162 Hugo Drive, we are just a short drive from the main Clemson campus. We work closely with several University departments, including the Mechanical Engineering Department, College of Engineering and Science, College of Business, Graphic Communications Department, and the Facilities Department in order to achieve our goals. 

MEmbership

Our members own every step of every process, all the way from project planning to component design and manufacture. Although always welcome, no experience is necessary to join the team. Experienced members work to train new members and provide the resources to learn. We have all the tools necessary to help you become proficient at our shop.

Membership is a great way to learn, network, and put your education to the test in one of the most exciting applications Clemson University can offer. Many of our members leverage the skills they’ve learned to obtain internships and full-time positions in a plethora of industries.
