Powertrain Division
What We Do:
The powertrain division is responsible for designing, maintaining, and operating the Engine and Drivetrain. Major design projects include the cooling, fuel, intake, exhaust, oil, and drivetrain subsystems. We rebuild our engines in-house and break them in before going in the car on our engine dyno. By doing this, we can verify our engines are reliable and safe to use before being tested on the track. Additionally, this allows us to tune the engine in a controlled environment. The Electrical and Powertrain divisions frequently collaborate to ensure all electrical systems are working to run the car properties. Subsystems like fuel and engine sensors need to constantly communicate with the ECU in order for the car to operate. Additionally, physical switches like the starter switch and shifting need to input commands to the ECU that trigger responses from the Powertrain.
